Decorticator

Decorticator for bast fibers such as hemp, flax or kenaf.

  • The decorticator has been designed to transform straw from bast fibres into a mixture of fibres and shives (hurd). This machine severs the fibres from the wooden stem. Inside the machine a rotor equipped with travelling blades and profiled screens.

    The straw breaks by getting rubbed over the profiled screens, resulting in a mixture of long fibres and shives. The material is transported through the machine by means of an air flow.

    The dimensions of the decorticator and its installed power depend on the application and the desired throughput capacity.
