CTC - Technology Center in Wielsbeke

Cretes, the leading expert in fiber processing machinery, has its own testing facility, the Cretes Technology Center (CTC), in Wielsbeke. This center allows Cretes to test and present innovative and sustainable solutions to the fiber processing industry.

  • Focused on bast fiber processing

The CTC specifically focuses on bast fiber processing, with a keen emphasis on flax and hemp. The center can also handle byproducts of these fibers, such as shives and tow. The line's working width is 1500mm, which aligns with the typical working with of real-life installations. An entire production line is simulated, allowing to demonstrate the possibilities of the machines to customers, ranging from capacity tests to quality analysis and input material comparison.

The CTC goes beyond a mere testing facility. It serves as a dynamic hub where customers can collaborate with Cretes experts to test their own materials and experience the capabilities of Cretes technologies in real-world settings.

    Flexibility for everyone

  • The CTC's flexibility is a major advantage. Its modular design enables Cretes to seamlessly adapt to the specific needs and requirements of each customer. Flax and hemp have diverse applications, each with its unique demands. Wheter it's materials for textiles, composites, construction, or the automotive industry, a perfect solution for every customer is showcased at the CTC.

  • Official opening and international interest

The CTC officially opened in March 2024, and immediately had its impact in the industry. In addition to testing for Belgian customers, trials have been conducted from the very beginning for clients from France, the Netherlands, the USA and even as far as Australia and China.
